Julia McCaw, 17, is an emerging artist and writer based in California, affectionally known to her friends and family as Juj. Though her creative conscience often attracts her to narrative portraiture, Julia makes an effort to stay rhetorically unbound to a single genre. A voracious reader, she is now exploring writing creative text of her own, particularly in poetic prose. As a painter, Julia is fascinated by surrealist and contemporary abstract style, and she tends to reflect this interest in her own writing and art.
Artists including JeanYves Lemoine, Ren Hang, Alice Neel, Vivian Maier, Nicolas Gavino, Egon Schiele, Emily Dickinson, and Alexander McQueen are other sources of daily inspiration for this aspiring student of art.
